Finish Room Supervisor
Summary/Objective:
To train, manage and position employees to perform the day-to-day operations of the finish, (and/or whitewood, trim, and final inspection) departments while meeting all scheduling, safety and quality requirements.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Six or more employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Train/retrain all employees in operational duties, safety standards, and quality standards as needed.
- Supervise employees to safely meet or exceed production quotas and quality standards daily. This includes assignment of employees to appropriate positions in department based on day’s scheduling requirements.
- Troubleshoot production and/or quality problems/issues working with employees and other departments to keep production running efficiently at all times.
- Coach and counsel employees to resolve performance issues, complete performance evaluations periodically, and take disciplinary action in accordance with Company policies as needed.
- Interview applicants and assist in hiring decisions as needed.
- Order finish materials weekly. Also, order sample chips and formulas from Color Lab and proof all formulas.
- Interview applicants and assist in hiring decisions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all Company rules and regulations.
- Check time cards for accuracy daily.

Professional License/Specialized Training
Experience: The amount of experience needed to perform the essential duties and responsibilities:
Three to five years.
Education: The education or equivalent experience required/preferred to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Skills/Competencies: Skill/Competencies required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities:
Excellent knowledge of finish equipment, materials, and application. Good eye for color. General computer skills. Supervisory skills. Kronos, Word and Outlook. Good communication skills.
Equipment: The equipment operated and/or programs used to perform the essential duties and responsibilities:
Spray guns and tanks, gauges, spray booths, and ovens.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. This position is Medium work and employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision acuity, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work is subject to extreme heat with temperatures up to 100 for periods of more than 8 hours and noise which is sufficient to cause shouting in order to be heard.
