PERFUSIONIST
Hamilton Health Care System in Dalton, Georgia, is seeking a Perfusionist to join their expert cardiac surgical program. This job will require relocation.
Given the cardiac disease socio-cultural propensity of the region, Hamilton Medical Center opened a premier cardio-vascular center in January 2021, making it more convenient for North Georgia patients to have their cardiac intervention needs met close to home (instead of requiring travel outside their community for this level of care). This state-of-the-art surgical center has drawn together well-known, well-trained and long-time cardiac teams for the benefit of patients in the North Georgia community. Preventional, interventional, robotic, arterial bypass and all levels of coronary disease treatment pre & post operation are available right on site. We are thankful and excited to offer these services to our patient community.
The Perfusionist we seek must be fully educated, trained, certified and skilled as an allied health professional in open-heart surgery.
They will be responsible for the selection, setup, and operation of the heart-lung bypass machine; knowledgeable concerning the variety of equipment available to perform extra-corporeal circulation functions and responsible in consultation with the surgeon(s) for selecting appropriate equipment and techniques to be used. Perfusionist will report to the Chief, Perfusionist Services. All staff at Hamilton Health Care System participate in the Process Improvement Program.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Science
Licensure: Certified Clinical Perfusionist by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion, Georgia Composite Medical Board Clinical Perfusion License, BLS required.
Experience: Previous Perfusion experience preferred.
Skills: Finger and hand dexterity. Ability to obtain and interpret pertinent information in terms of patient's needs. Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for the procedure being performed and the age group of the patient served.
Physical, Mental, Environmental and Working Conditions
Prolonged walking and standing required, with the ability to lift and move patients. Ability to tolerate rapid patient turnover and high census. Works in typical surgery setting with patients experiencing a wide range of surgical procedures and anesthetics. Required to take call, with some late day assignments requested. Ability to effectively cope with acute emergency situations.
